In the neighborhood
Barnsley is a market town in the heart of England that has a strong industrial heritage in mining and glassmaking. But here at the DMC, we’re driving change to make Barnsley a hub for tech, digital and creative businesses.
Where is the DMC?
We sit within a triangle of Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester, and just a two-minute walk from the interchange station. Barnsley is quickly building a name for itself as a friendly and welcoming town that attracts culture, diversity, and forward-thinking individuals.
Whether you are looking to build a base in Barnsley, or curious about taking a visit, we have broken down our must-see attractions to help you make Barnsley feel at home.
Barnsley has a lot to offer when it comes to satisfying your food cravings. We have everything from your traditional, cosy country pub to fine dining and cuisine. We are also proud of our international cuisine, and our much-celebrated Market Kitchen is an example of the wide variety of food we have on offer.
Barnsley town centre’s acclaimed independent food hall is a great place to meet and eat. Located above the market hall, Market Kitchen serves up a range of international street food vendors, hearty English breakfasts, traditional favourites, and a delicious dessert parlour to satisfy your taste buds. Cucina bar is also situated in the centre of the kitchen and is a great spot for after-hours drinks – all a short 5-minute walking distance from the DMC. On sunny days, there is also a terrace which overlooks the town centre with views across the newly built public square.
Our fabulous Ground Coffee has been with us at the DMC since 2016. Coffee is always served with a smile and Ground has become an integral part of the DMC for our clients. Independently run by Will, he has an innate ability to recall your usual coffee order in no time.
Barnsley Libraries and Falco Lounge
The Library is a vibrant hub with digital resources and state of the art technology alongside the facility to borrow books and get involved in activities. There is also direct access to Falco Lounge, a quirky café bar that aims to capture the heritage and spirit of Barnsley – a great place for a cocktail.
