I could, and let’s face it I do, get really excited about the spaces we have to offer at the Digital Media Centre. For starters our impressive five-storey, open atrium with its stunning skybridge always packs a punch as a first impression. And, we’ve recently revamped this area to create Barnsley town centre’s coolest business lounge, complete with coffee wagon, rolling news feed and free wifi.
Beyond that we offer our customers everything from small informal break-out spaces on every floor, (favourite spots for our resident businesses to have quick huddles with their teams and their visitors) right through to a range of funky meeting room, boardroom, workshop and conference facilities for any kind of business event (all available to you for hire).
We’ve invested in ensuring that all our meeting rooms boast flat screens ranging from 55 to 84” and our larger meeting rooms also have interactive touchscreen functionality, which allows for so much more than just flat presentations. Think of them as giant iPads with wireless connectivity, capacity for writing, drawing, note taking and all manner of creativity and information sharing on screen. The largest one of these screens is in our Conference Room which can hold up to 100 guests theatre style and 60 cabaret style. You can pop in for a demo if you like. It’s supported by a full PA system too. We’d also like to mention that global audio-visual technology leaders Osborne Technologies, based right here in Barnsley, developed the integrated Tango software for these pieces of kit.
Other facilities worthy of mention include our Workshop where our screen also features Leap Motion gesture controlled software to help you wave your arms about and release your inner Neo. You can make the most of Skype, Google Hangouts and more with our wide-lens Video Conferencing Room with 65” screen. And then there’s our ever-so-cute first-floor Fish Bowl – a dual aspect workspace flooded with natural light and room for 8 people to generate ideas, have a meeting of minds, review or reflect; with 55” screen, white board/flip chart and free wifi as standard.
At the DMC, we also understand that as well as attractive, functional spaces and great AV to express themselves, great minds need nourishment. We’ve worked closely for years with our fabulous caterers Simply Delicious to deliver the highest quality food to people using our workspaces. Whether you need a quick sandwich platter or a sumptuous Mediterranean feast, we have a menu to suit.
I know I’m biased but come and have a look inside at the spaces we to offer at the Digital Media Centre. You’ll never want to leave!
