DMC welcomes SOKA Studios
Barnsley’s Digital Media Centre (DMC) welcomes a new successful graphic design and website development agency SOKA Studio.
based in Lincoln, the company has made the move up the M1 with the support of the
Enterprising Barnsley team and located itself in the town’s heart of digital
business the DMC, a successful hub that will expand into a second building in
SOKA Studio, which was established in 2015, has quickly developed a diverse client and design portfolio across the UK which has seen them crowned winners of the Micro Business of the Year category at the Lincolnshire Technology & Innovation Awards 2019, which recognised SOKA as a highly ambitious company, capable of fast growth.
Founder of SOKA, Sophie Karaer, said: “The decision to return to Barnsley, where my family are from, was a simple one. The opportunity to be part of the wider community, as well as the business community in the expanding Digital Campus is important and will help us grow. We aim to equally contribute into those communities too; I’ve already signed up to do some volunteer work designing posters for the Barnsley Main coal mining heritage site.”
Enterprising Barnsley team have already put me in touch with Barnsley College
as we have had real value in working with the education sector in Lincoln, and
it’s something we want to continue to do here, providing work experience and
guidance to students interested in the field.
