Barnsley-based animation studio celebrates third birthday
A Barnsley-based animation studio, which has created work to promote major events including the Tour de Yorkshire, has celebrated its third birthday.
B Animated Ltd, founded by award-winning graphic designer Laura Blackburn, specialises in creating bespoke 2D animations to promote businesses, services and products.
Based at the Digital Media Centre, past clients include Manchester City Council, Welcome to Yorkshire, Tech Revolution and Enterprising Barnsley.
Laura said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating our third birthday! Since setting up the business in 2018, we’ve gone from strength to strength.
“Over the past three years, we have worked on some amazing projects and are proud that work produced by the studio has been used to promote events including the Tour de Yorkshire and UCI Road World Championships.”
One of B Animated’s most popular services is the creation of high quality, animated explainer videos, which can explain a product or service in clear and simple terms and help a customer better understand what a business can do for them.
Laura added: “Graphic design and animation can have many benefits for businesses when used well. Animation, in particular, can make a really big impact with an audience.
“I launched B Animated to offer companies the whole package when it comes to design and animation and love working with our clients, right from the initial design concept and storyboard through to creating the finished article and bringing their vision to life.”
Laura has also recently been involved with Barnsley Business Champions.
This is a project produced by the Digital Media Centre, in partnership with Barnsley Careers Service, which includes visual profiles featuring Barnsley-based ‘business champions’ working in design, technology and media.
Laura has been selected alongside nine other innovators for the first batch of profiles, which will be shared with young people in local schools and colleges, with the aim of inspiring the next generation of Barnsley-based innovators and creators.
She added: “This was a fantastic project to be part of and I’m so pleased to be involved.
“It’s been an amazing three years in business for us so far and I’m excited to build on that in the future.”
