DMC customers have the opportunity to benefit from the package of support available from the DMC team. Our Regional Director can provide advice and guidance on a whole range of issues, from signposting to relevant organisations to more strategic business planning.
Here are some examples of the support available through the DMC:
- Advice on developing more innovative approaches and achieving greater business growth potential
- Help with identifying and attracting the right funding, including becoming ‘investment ready’
- Signposting to appropriate specialist support organisations
- Advice and assistance with PR, marketing and event organisation
- Guidance with training and recruitment

Enterprising Barnsley
Enterprising Barnsley is a programme to support the growth of businesses in Barnsley and the DMC has been awarded Enterprise Hub status as part of the programme.
As the economic climate remains uncertain for many businesses in the Barnsley area, the programme offers support through three integrated delivery channels:
- Providing affordable office accommodation in Barnsley
- Free networking events throughout the borough (see website for details of events). Topics include finance management, sales and marketing and sector-specific events for creative and digital companies.
- Enterprise coaches, to provide support on areas such as innovation, marketing/PR, fulfilment, staff development and HR.
The £4.7 million programme is funded by £2.89m from the European Regional Development Fund, £739,000 from Yorkshire Forward, and other sources account for the remaining funding.
